A website, a game icon and a Discord
The game has a website now, and you’re on it.
The website
The first drafts read like a brochure, just a list of features, and it sounded terrible. I wanted it to show the game instead. The army box on the home page types out a description and that army appears, made by the game’s own generator, and every picture is from the game itself. For the battle we set two armies up in the game and caught them from the side just as the lines meet.

It’s tested like the game is, on phone and desktop sizes, for accessibility, and to make sure nothing gets cut off. And there’s an honest bit at the end. It’s made by one guy and his AI, and it’s the game I wanted as a child.
An icon
This took a lot of rounds. Crests, odd helmets, a die with creatures for pips, a frog on a rat on a bear. Then we started fresh and looked at what actually stands out next to other strategy games’ icons, which is flat shapes, bright backgrounds and faces you can still read at 16 pixels.

I went with the parts kit, a model kit frame with a frog’s head, a horned helmet, a shield and a sword still attached. That’s pretty much the whole game in one picture. Ink on gold, to match the site.

The early ones I liked didn’t go to waste either, they’re stickers and emoji now.
Discord
There’s a Discord server now if you want to follow along. New builds when there are some, devlog posts as they go up, and places to share your races, suggest new words and peoples, and report bugs. Come and say hello.
